Trezor Suite® | Starting Up Your Device | Trezor®™

Presentation & quick-start guide — secure initialization, first steps, and presenter notes.

Introduction

What this session covers

This page guides an audience through starting up a Trezor hardware wallet using Trezor Suite. We'll cover unboxing checks, installing the Suite, initializing the device, securing your recovery, and first transactions. The instructions reference Trezor's official resources and assume the user has a Trezor device (Model One, Model T, Safe series, or Safe).

Key outcomes

Approx. presentation length: 10–15 minutes live demo. Keep each step short & show the Suite UI.

Step-by-step setup (Presenter-friendly)

Step 1 — Prepare & verify

Hygiene before you start

Confirm your package shows no tamper signs. Use an official download of Trezor Suite (desktop or web) and verify signatures if you prefer extra security.

Download Suite

Get the official app: desktop or continue in browser.

Support & Learn

Use Trezor Learn and Support pages for deeper context and troubleshooting.

Step 2 — Connect & install firmware

Plug in your Trezor to your computer, open Trezor Suite, and follow on-screen instructions. New devices may require installing firmware — do that from inside Suite.

Step 3 — Initialize device

Choose Create new to generate a seed; set a PIN when prompted. Write the recovery words on the provided card and store them offline in a secure place.

Step 4 — Verify & test

Verify the device prompts match Suite prompts and send a small test transaction (e.g., 0.0001 BTC) to confirm everything works before larger transfers.

Presenter notes & H4/H5 usage

Short demo flow (4 slides / screens)

  1. Intro & safety checks (show packaging).
  2. Download & verify Suite (open official page).
  3. Plug device and initialize (show PIN + seed steps).
  4. Send tiny test transaction and show transaction verification on device.
Tips

Speak slowly while demonstrating each button press on the physical device. Emphasize that the recovery seed is the single point of recovery — never share it digitally.
